About Oakwood Studio
The Arts & Crafts movement originated in the late nineteenth century as a response to the realities of mass production that debased the individual and yielded cheap poorly designed products. That movement is true today as it was then.
My products are made with this in mind; i.e., strength, durability, and aesthetics. These key elements are as a tripod, with one missing, the others fail.
I started working with wood when I was 13 or 14 years old. I fell in love with the feel and look of good, solid furniture.
I will continue to build my products in the Arts & Crafts tradition; hand crafted, with accuracy and quality. I have seen good looking furniture that doesn’t last. To me, that is a waste and expensive. Over the years, I have seen what works. I want to pass that along with my projects.
